Armani visited Croatia on his 65 meters long yacht Main

Italian fashion designer Giorgio Armani cruised along the Adriatic coast from Split to Dubrovnik and Cavtat, visiting some of Croatian Islands such as Brac, Hvar and Korcula, following the same route as Bernie Ecclestone.

Armani yacht Main in Croatia

The daily newspaper 24 sata has reported he said he had always wanted to visit Split. Armani added: “For a long time, I have wanted to see this part of the Adriatic because I have heard so many wonderful stories about it. I just want to enjoy cruising and hope I will also get some new inspiration for my autumn collection.”

codecasa main armani

Giorgio Armani’s 65 meters long yacht Main was made by boat builders Codecasa, in Viareggio, Tuscany. The superyacht took three years to build, and the external design was created by Armani and the designers from the boat builders. The famous stylist also created the interior, personally following the works with collaboration from Studio Ortelli, and its trusted architects. Main is an Armani mega yacht through and through, with a courageous style.

Apparently Armani wanted the military green to stand out, rebelling against the classic white of luxury yachts. The interior has much natural light, filtered by Venetian blinds in birch wood. Furnishings are in a minimalist style with black, steel and teak colours and materials.

Main holds six guest cabins, a recreational space and eight cabins for crew. It’s equipped with two Caterpillars at 2482 hp, both reaching a maximum speed of seven knots.

Sailing holidays and summer festivals

In many old towns along the Adriatic coast during the summer months streets, piazzas and old castles become a stage for a variety of live performances ranging from the folklore ensembles, world-famous rock bands, jazz, opera or classical concerts, to ballet and theatre. Most known festivals are Dubrovnik summer festival (Dubrovacke ljetne igre), Split summer festival (Splitsko ljeto) and summer performances in the Arena in Pula (Ljeto u Areni) but do not forget to check the programme for other places you may visit this summer. Some performances may be worth planning your sailing holiday around!

He arrived to his favourite Trogir last week where his 60m yacht Petara (named after his two daughters Petra and Tamara) was already awaiting. Ecclestone feels very much at home in Trogir, the UNESCO heritage site, where he enjoys visiting old friends and buying fresh produce on the local farmer’s market. The Formula 1 boss was also spotted buying roses at the local market. Sailing Boats Croatia Brac Bol Zlatni Rat

Zlatni Rat (Golden horn or Golden Cape) beach near Bol on the Island of Brač

For many there is no place like this - a light breeze swiping through the pine trees and the soothing sound of vawes crushing against a v-shaped golden pebble & sand bar that changes the shape and direction with the wind.  A true paradise, especially for windsurfers and kite surfers. Zlatni Rat most certainly deserves to be listed among the most beutiful beaches in Croatia.

Tourist portal LonelyPlanet has included Zlatni rat (Golden horn or Golden Cape) beach on Brac among the top ten in the world. LonelyPlanet describes Zlatni rat as a paradise for surfers, and further on emphasizes: “Bol on the island of Brac is a proof how it is possible to develop tourist activity in a socially responsible manner.”

Telegraph has also Zlatni Rat in the top spot of their list of Europe’s best beaches, calling it “One of the most spectacular beaches of the Adriatic”.
