Zlatni Rat (Golden horn or Golden Cape) beach near Bol on the Island of Brač
For many there is no place like this - a light breeze swiping through the pine trees and the soothing sound of vawes crushing against a v-shaped golden pebble & sand bar that changes the shape and direction with the wind. A true paradise, especially for windsurfers and kite surfers. Zlatni Rat most certainly deserves to be listed among the most beutiful beaches in Croatia.
Tourist portal LonelyPlanet has included Zlatni rat (Golden horn or Golden Cape) beach on Brac among the top ten in the world. LonelyPlanet describes Zlatni rat as a paradise for surfers, and further on emphasizes: “Bol on the island of Brac is a proof how it is possible to develop tourist activity in a socially responsible manner.”
Telegraph has also Zlatni Rat in the top spot of their list of Europe’s best beaches, calling it “One of the most spectacular beaches of the Adriatic”.

We completely missed out when we went to Croatia - only beach we ended up on was a gravel pit in Zadar and was so small you were in danger of rolling off it if you turned over. Our Croatia holidays weren’t that bad though, the Plitvice Lakes are way more stunning than any beach
Glad you liked the National Park Plitvice, it is stunning. Too bad about the beach experience. As a rule of thumb, bigger cities on the Adriatic coast such as Zadar, Split, Rijeka or Šibenik are not ideal for a day on the beach, even locals would go a bit further out to enjoy the sun and sea, most often to a nearby Island. On the other hand, they do offer everything for a nice city break.
