This is a very unlikely question to hear from your friendly waitress while spending holidays in Croatia.

Croats, as other Mediterranean’s, are passionate coffee drinkers and can go for a cup of coffee (Idemo na kavu?) at any time, day or night. Your average café bar will have a long list of coffees (kava) to choose from, the usual espresso, cappuccino, macchiato, latte (bijela kava), and even different flavours of instant coffees and so on and so on. Once I counted about 32 on the price list!
If having a cup of tea is not something you will gladly miss on your holidays then make sure you ask what kinds of tea they serve. If you just ask for “tea” (čaj, pronounced chai), you will most likely get a herbal tea such as mint, camomile or a fruit flavour that you can have with lemon or honey.
Not really a “proper cup of tea” is it? Relax, it is not that bad, most of the cafés will have many tea varieties on offer, such as Earl Grey, Darjeeling, Assam etc. and you can stock up your galley from local supermarkets for those long afternoons at sea.
If it’s Barry’s tea you are after, then better bring some from home
