Vrboska, Island of Hvar, Croatia

Vrboska is the smallest town on the sunny Island of Hvar and is special because of its geographical location, well hidden in the depth of the bay. Because of this, Vrboska offers a very safe harbour, protected from nearly all weather conditions.  At most times it is hard to guess which wind is blowing, so even locals can get it wrong! There are moorings available in the harbour (plus water and electricity) and are managed by very experienced and friendly team. If you have been  there before, they will remember you!

Docking in the town harbour brings everything you may need “at your stern”. Just step off the boat and get some fresh pastry from the bakery, read your morning papers in one of the  cafés or buy some local produce from farmer’s doorstep. There is a choice of bars and restaurants offering gourmet specialties created by using fresh local fish, vegetables from the
surrounding fields, all infused with domestic olive oil and aromatic spices and accompanied with a choice of famous wines from Hvar for a
perfect gastronomic delight.

Vrboska - Little Venice

The town centre is built along two shores, inter-connected by a series of small stone bridges, giving Vrboska a nick name “Little Venice”. It owes its charm to the typical Mediterranean popular architecture, the proud old town houses with characteristics of Gothic, renaissance and baroque style, the sacral spirit of the  ancient church buildings, but also to the luxurious modern villas.
